Hi, I’m Zainab Morenigbade, the founder and director of Bread and Belongin.

My heart for this work was born from a simple truth: no one should ever have to question where their next meal will come from or whether they are seen and valued. Growing up in the Bronx and witnessing individuals experience food insecurity shaped my calling to serve, not just with resources, but with dignity and love.

 

Over the years, I’ve served with organizations like Hope for New York and the R.I.C.E. Program Food Pantry, preparing meals, distributing essentials, and walking alongside families in need. These experiences taught me that real change starts with small, consistent acts of compassion, and that is exactly what Bread and Belongin is built on.

 

My vision is simple: to ensure that no one in our community has to choose between dignity and survival. Through food and clothing distributions, and eventually larger programs that empower families long-term, we are not just meeting immediate needs; we are building pathways toward a future where everyone has a seat at the table.
